BJ, Savannah & Broc

The last time I did photos for this family was when BJ was 6 months old and now he's 3 years old and they have TWO new babies. I LOVE this photo. I just like how BJ seems so comfortable with his new baby brother and sister even though Broc is crying in his ear.
Savannah is so tiny next to Broc.

Love that expression.

and a little storyboard example just for fun.

Avery & Alec in Downtown Annapolis

My cousin Josh was in town last week from Charlston SC with his wife Sharla and their adorable kids Alec and Avery. They were staying in Virginia with my aunt and uncle but made the drive to Annapolis to hang out for the afternoon. I had so much fun hanging out with their family, my mom and my aunt Laura. We just walked around downtown, went in a few shops and took a bunch of pictures. Nothing too overly exciting, but a great day all the same.
One of my favorite photos of the day is this one of Alec's legs with Josh and Sharla in the background. Alec and I entertained ourselves by taking jumping shadow pictures. That is until Alec hurt his ankle when I started asking him to jump off of things.
*Alec, next time we will have you stretch before we do photos.

Avery hammed it up for pictures once she woke up and warmed up to me. It must be really weird to wake up in a stroller walking around a strange city surrounded by people you hardly see.

We went out to eat next and Alec looked so small sitting at the bar. It was kinda funny. He's watching the baseball game but I think he might have been drinking too. He was kinda slurring his words as we were leaving.
I love this shot of Avery and Josh

Love you guys! I'll come visit soon!

Easter Extravaganza!

It's so great to be home in Maryland and so close to all my family. I love being able to make the family get-togethers, the baby showers, the birthday parties and the holiday fun. Sunday I headed out to Virginia to my cousin's house for the Easter Extravaganza and it was so nice to be surrounded by people who I love and who love me.
Here are a few photos that I got during the day.
Kaia and my Uncle Chuck This next photo is not very tecnically correct but I really like it, probably because I love the people in it so much. I just love the connection and comfortable familiarity between Kaia and great-grandmother "GG" Spotlight on all the kiddos
First up: Avery
And big brother Alec

Kaia
Gillian
And Sophie!
I was playing around with my wide angle lens and thought it was really funny how out of proportion Sophie looks. Its not a very flattering angle but she didn't really seem to mind.
A little mommy daughter love.
Usually it's only their girls that get plastered all over my blog but this time I snuck a photo of Elena and CD looking happy in love.

And lastly the droolworthy peanut butter eggs that are a tradition in my family. They are so delicious and I'm really sad that I already ate all the ones I stole to bring home.
Elena~ (*lip quivering*) if you love me at all please mail me more eggs!!! I can't possible wait until next Easter!

To all my family~ thanks for being so fantastically real, fun, quirky and genuinely full of love. I love you!!

WPPI in Las Vegas

I just got back home from traveling (yet again!) This time I was in crazy Las Vegas at the WPPI convention and trade show. (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) It was a whirlwind (and sleep deprived) trip full of amazing photographers, fabulous parties, new friends and brilliant speakers. I had such a great time rooming with my great friend Nicole and my head is just spinning with all the new ideas and inspiration that I have buzzing around up there.

I didn't take many photos throughout the convention but I do have these fun photo booth photos from Becker's party.

First up Nicole and I

The party was hosted by the super talented wedding photographer, Becker. Check out his website for some drool worthy photos.
Anne Ruthmann is Nicole's mentor and a new friend. She is a brilliant photographer and a beautiful person willing to share so much of her knowledge and time to other photographers.
We had way too much fun in the photo booth.

Next up is Carmen, Nicole, me and Anne.
On our last day in Vegas, Nicole and I rented a car and drove into the desert to take some photos of each other. Here are a few of my favorites that I captured of the lovely Nicole.

I played around with the next photo so I showed it before and after.

Hailey

While Hailey was job shadowing me, we walked around downtown Annapolis and I had Hailey check out what it's like to be on the other side of the camera. She's so adorable so it was really easy to get some great photos.

I can't believe that this is the same Hailey that use to follow me around at 8yrs old.
