Double Double Trouble!!

I absolutely adore this family. They were so connected and I just loved watching them interact. Here are a few of my many many favorites.
Marcy and Dave are the proud parents of an adorable set of twin 2 year olds and in a very short time they will be welcoming yet another set of twins into their adorable family. I love Lucy's scrunched up face in this one.

Smith Family

I have to run right now but i wanted to get this adorable family on the blog before I left. Here are a few of my favorites from another great Maryland session.

I just love these eyes.

Cole and JD

These are my all time favorite twin boys! I always look forward to sessions with JD and Cole and their 1 yr session was no exception. It is amazing to see them grow into their own little personalities and see the differences develop between the 2 of them. I saw this super cute sticker on the back of their momma's car as i pulled up to their house and i couldn't resist taken a photo.

Thanks Kate for letting me continue to document their amazing little lives.

New Orleans

Never before have I felt so helpless as when I was watching Hurricane Katrina ravage New Orleans. To see all of those people young and old, rich or poor just waiting for someone to rescue them and trying to survive was heartwrenching. It's hard to believe that its already been 2 years already.

Part of my day yesterday was spent touring the city including the 9th ward where there is still almost as much damage as there was when Katrina hit. I would like to share a few of the photos that I was able to get.

This house was detached and floated off in the flood leaving only the front porch.

Since street signs and road signs were destroyed in the flood there were lots of homemade signs in their place. This man is living in a trailer where his home used to be. Katrina claimed the lives of both of his daughters and he has turned his property to a memorial to his daughters with plaques in their honor and a raised American flag. He had a sign posted that read "I am now home. I will rebuild. I am New Orleans!" Before evacuating this family left a message on what is left of their house reading "This was home"

It was heartbreaking to see the entire contents of someone's home broken and piled on the front lawn.

This house was demolished when another house floated over and slammed into it. Once the water started to recede a refrigerator that had been floating above the house landed and remained on the roof.

All of the houses in the area had the markings left from those who inspected the houses searching for those still remaining. Sadly this house shows that they did come across a resident that had not survived.
Please keep New Orleans in your prayers as there is still so much help that is needed.

Little cutie

This little cutie was all boy. He ran, ran and ran some more. But when I could catch up to him he would turn on the charm and ham it up for me. Such a sweetheart. Here are a few of my favs starting with those eyes that I love.


By the end of our session he was so sweaty and pink in the cheeks, but still just as cute as can be.

Beautiful Sisters

This was my first appt. back in Maryland and it was definetely a great one. These little cuties were so fun and so adorable that it was hard to pick my favorites. They have the most soulful eyes. I am such a sucker for a child's eyes.

Here I am in New Orleans and in true hurricane season fashion this is the view out my hotel room this morning. Kinda scary. Needless to say I haven't left the hotel room yet today.

Road Trip!!

Part of my move back to Maryland was getting my car here which was the perfect excuse for a road trip. My great friend Brekke decided to take the chance of being talked to death during 18+ hours of driving and came along for the ride. We stopped in random cities, experienced city wide black-outs, broken down cab rides and ran through corn mazes.
To break up a monotonous day on the road we decided to follow random billboards that looked promising. This proved not to be a fool-proof method but after a few misses we ended up at the fabulous County Line Orchard somewhere in Indiana. We took tractor rides, got lost in corn mazes, ate apples right off the trees and took lots of silly photos. We came across this great school bus cut-out but since there were only 2 of us and 1 of us was always taking the photos we had to get a little creative.

Ross Family

This lovely family was my last photo shoot in Nebraska before I made the trek to Maryland. We had a beautiful evening starting in the less than beautiful alley behind my old apartment. Both Estelle and Cole thought I was out of my mind for bringing them to such a dirty place for photos. But we had fun anyway. Here are a few of my favorites.
