Alli & Brian ~ Baltimore MD Wedding Photographer

Meet Brian and Alli. I was excited to shoot their wedding since the first day I met them. They were so obviously in love with each other and it was obvious from every look they gave each other and every time they took turns telling different parts of their stories. And I loved the way that Alli looked at Brian the whole time he was telling the story of how he proposed. And trust me, that's a long story :) I knew immediately that I wanted to work with them and be able to capture that connection they share.
They were married at the Hyatt in Baltimore and it was a beautiful day full of family and friends. I love the view of the Inner Harbor.

Oh, did I mention yet that Alli is STUNNING?! She has such a classic beauty to her.

She was pretty nervous as she was getting ready withe the anticipation of seeing Brian and kept fidgeting her hands. I loved it.

Alli and Brian's mommas were sneaking peeks into the room because they wanted to watch when Brian got his first look at his new bride.

It was really important to Brian and Alli to devote all time following the ceremony to their family and friends so they opted to do all photos before hand. I loved it because it allowed them time to get to enjoy each others company prior to the ceremony. Alli knew she was going to cry and wanted to be able to have her moment. I love love love that I was able to linger in the corner to capture it. How adorable are they??!

Then we ran around the hotel getting some fun portraits.

Alli literally beamed with happiness all day long. Here she is with her dad.

This one is my favorite bridal party shot. I loved having fun with the escalators. Choreographing the bridal party with the moving escalator made it a fun challenge.

I love they way they look at each other.

To honor Brian's father, in lieu of favors they made a donation to American Cancer Society and gave out Livestrong bracelets to all the guests. I thought it was a beautiful personal touch.

And I'll end their post with more fun in the glass elevator.

Geez! I've been away from my blog for awhile. It's been such a crazy holiday season so my poor blog has been suffering. But not for long. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and I have TONS and TONS of shoots to post. Starting with the fabulous Danielle & Bobby. You might remember them from their engagement session here. Danielle and I have been friends since we were 10 years old and I was beyond thrilled to be able to document her big day.
One quick shot from the rehearsal dinner....

I spent many many evenings at Danielle's house while we were growing up. Many dinners, pool parties and lots of laughs with her amazing, high spirited family. I don't think I've ever seen her mother Nancy look so beautiful. Doesn't she just glow?

I was lucky enough to have my extremely talented friend Nicole by my side for this wedding. She got the next 2 images.

While I was doing bridal party portraits, Nicole had a chance to play around with my new lensbaby lens and I love what she got with it.

Danielle's parents, Nancy and Kenny, are such an amazing couple and I don't think I've ever seen a couple more in love after all these years together.

Katerina & Ryan are Married!

Last year I was able to shoot Katerina's mothers wedding so I was thrilled when they hired me to shoot Katerina's wedding as well. It was a gorgeous day for a great big Greek wedding! It is tradition for the single women to write their names on the bottom of the bride's shoe. Later in the evening thye will check the shoe and whoever's name disappears first is the next to get married.

I was fortunate to have Nicole Ladonne by my side all day as my second shooter. The next 2 sets of images are hers.

I love this shot that Nicole got. It really shows off all the color in their flowers. Katerina made all the bridesmaids necklaces as well. They were all different and the looked great on them.

Catching up... nebraska style

I had a lot of glorious photo shoots while I was out in Nebraska and I'm finally getting all caught up on all of them. Grab a cup of coffee because this post is a big one.

Rain at the end of the week kept pushing back my appt with Maria, Josh and Ella but it definitely ended up being worth the wait. Congratulations Josh and Maria on your upcoming wedding.

You'll recognize Jake from the above session. He had double the photo fun when we went off around downtown Omaha for his senior session.

I love to shoot senior sessions so it was great to be able to work with so many amazing seniors this trip. Each one different from the rest in so many ways. All beautiful and amazing individuals.

Once I wrapped up my mini shoot morning I headed to Memorial park in Omaha to meet with this lovely family. These boys were so energetic and kept me on my toes the whole shoot. I love kids like this. So full of life and laughs and adventure.
Little Thomas had a cast on his foot which is probably the only reason I could keep up with him. :)

Nebraska Mini Sessions

On my recent trip to Nebraska I arranged a handful of shoots at a farm in Louisville. I love a rustic location and this one has all kinds of fun barns and buildings full of treasures, old furniture and vintage trunks. It was my playground for the week that I was there. The first day of shooting I did mini sessions inthe morning and my friend Danielle arranged to park her fathers old Chevy truck on the property to use as well. It was a great addition. Of course I had to make sure that Danielle brought her boys over for some photos on grandpa's truck.

Baby Annabelle

It seems like only yesterday Phoebe and I were little girls choreographing dances to the Stand By Me soundtrack and now we are all grown up and she is a mother of 2. I can't believe it! Meet Danielle and Bobby. I have known Danielle for almost 2/3's of my life ever since I transferred Elementary schools in 5th grade. We lived just a few miles from each other from the time we were 10 through high school and were such a part of each other's lives growing up. We vacationed with each other's families, shared laughs, tears and sleepovers and spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on the phone. Its great to be able to spend so much time with another person over the years to see them change from a shy, giggly curly haired girl into such an amazing, successful and beautiful woman. I was beyond thrilled when Danielle and Bobby decided to hire me to be photograph their wedding which was just this past weekend in Naples FL. That post will be coming soon and in the meantime enjoy my favorites from their engagement session in Georgetown.

This one is one of my favorites from the day.

Danielle probably won't be thrilled that I posted this one since she told me during the shoot that she hates photos of her laughing but I couldn't help myself. I just adore this one. She is just looks so happy and carefree.

It's that time of year again where the temperature drops, the leaves start changing and all the beautiful fall colors start coming out. It's absolutely my FAVORITE season of the year. It's also a perfect time to get some new custom photography for your family. The holidays are right around the corner and what better gifts to give then some beautiful images.

I have just a few remaining days available for photo sessions in order to get photos in time for the holidays and I’m looking forward to some fantastically fun photo shoots! In order to accommodate more of my fabulous clients on these premium days I'll be doing things a little differently and offering mini photo shoot packages so read below for all the details. I will start booking the time slots tomorrow Sept 15th at 12 noon. There is a limited availability so act quickly. I have a feeling they are going to go VERY fast.

First option is Mini Shoot days

Tuesday October 13th Beach location in Annapolis or Severna Park TBD 9:00am-4:00pm Raindate 14th
Wednesday October 21st Down’s Park in Pasadena 9:00am-4:00pm Raindate 22nd
Saturday October 24th Kinder Farm Park in Severna Park 9:00am-1:45pm Rain location to be announced
Sunday October 25th Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis 11:30am-4:00pm Rain location to be announced

Another fabulous session with some of the most adorable little girls ever. They are classic, dainty, beautiful, giggly, girly, funny and lovely and I adore every session I have with them. And trust me, there have been LOTS!! Each one gets better than the one before bringing you my favorite session with them to date.... this one including their momma Amy. Aren't they lovely? I don't know what you call the little hand games like Miss Mary Mack... but I loved them as a child and I loved that they did them during their photo session.

Sooo fun!

This photo session was a suprise present for their dad for his birthday. I almost don't want to show him because this is the day he is going to realize he has to lock up his daughters. Wowza! They just keep getting more and more beautiful!

Back in June I head to Ann Arbor MI to visit my great friend and talented photographer Nicole. We had a fabulous visit full of concerts, dinners, karaoke, crab walk contests and TONS of photo shoots.

1 of the main reasons I was there was to assist Nicole with Stella and Jules wedding. I don't know that I've been to a wedding more full of love then Stella and Jules. I was truly an honor to be a part of it. Stella was walked down the aisle by her first love. Her son Jeffrey

Jeffrey was full of emotions after the ceremony. It was so beautiful to see him interact with Stella.

Annapolis Woman Photographers ~ Shoot Out

I am part of a wonderful group of the sweetest and most talented women photographers in the Annapolis area and a few weeks ago we all ventured out to downtown Annapolis to get a group shot of all of us together. We made it a shoot out free for all so we could all get practice on the other side of the camera for once and get some beautiful images of each other. It was a blast and I can't wait to do it again.

Bonnaroo 2009 ~ Manchester TN

Back in June I ventured to Manchester TN with a crew of fellow music lovers for my first Bonnaroo experience. It was Amazing! The weather couldn't have been more perfect (after the monsoon on Day 1) It was just overcast enough not to be sweltering in the heat and it was just wet enough from the rain that there were no dust storms. That is what I call... Perfection!
The music was wonderful... Phish, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis, Erykah Badu, Ben Harper, Brett Dennen, Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Santigold, Raphael Saadiq, Gomez, Wilco, Moe, Girl Talk.... just to name a few :)

John works for Lala (if you don't know what it is you MUST check it out! It's where I go to listen to music every day while I'm editting photos. I can hardly ever see anything when I go to live shows seeing as how I was not gifted in the height department. It was beyond wonderful to be able to get such a great vantage point. Katzenjammer

Meet Katerina & Ryan. I first met this stunning couple when I photographed Katerina's mom's wedding last summer. Their family is so warm and inviting that they made me feel right at home immediately. So of course I was thrilled when I was asked to do Katerina and Ryan's wedding too.
We had a great time on this engagement shoot starting at Dock Street Bar in downtown Annapolis. A glass of wine is a great way to relax for a photo shoot. :)

Katerina and Ryan are 2 of the sweetest most laid back people ever. Not to mention GORGEOUS!!

Then we headed to a beach nearby for a change of scenery.

Meet Lyndsay and Sadie. I just absolutlely love seeing my clients grow throughout the years and its always so much fun to get to spend time with these 2 little girls. I haven't seen them since little Sadie was just a couple months old and it's unbelievable how big they are now.

They are so sweet and snuggly and their eyes!.. Oh their eyes! They are just hypnotizing.

Baby Davey

So Baby David has been around for a month now and already I'm so completely head over heels in love with him. For those of you who may not know Baby David belongs to my little sister and her hubby Steve. He is just the sweetest most cutie patootieist baby in the world.... even when he is crying and pooping. I seriously could just eat him up. But instead I take lots and lots of photos.

We looked EVERYWHERE for this pacifier before we found who stole it. They still say dogs mouths are cleaner than humans, right?

There are very little things I like more than a wrinkly baby!!

I couldn't believe how much little Logan has grown since last years photo shoot. He belongs to my financial advisor Brad and his beautiful wife Colleen. I just love when I get to see them on my trips back to Nebraska.

Logan is OBSESSED with trains so of course we made sure to stop by the RR tracks near their house for some photos.
A woman that drove by shouted out the window at us "Be quick on the tracks because it's really dangerous. I know, I used to work for the railroad." haha.. Thanks for the advice!

I'm so happy to finally have Jill and Jeremy's wedding up here on the blog. These dear friends of mine got married at the Omaha Botanical Gardens in beautifully classic and intimate ceremony. Brian and Shelly were married on a gorgeous day surrounded by their closest friends and family. They are the absolute sweetest, most genuine people you could ever meet and treated me as though I was a close friend. I don't think I even need to mention how stunning Shelly is! An absolute beauty!
Brian and Shelly chose to see each other before the ceremony making them one of my favorite types of couples. This allowed us to get all the photos taken before hand freeing them up to just relax and have fun the rest of the day. Here are a few from their 'first sight'

It's A Boy!!!!

On June 23rd at 3:59am my little sister Sara gave birth to the most amazing little boy.

I was so excited that I was able to be in town for the birth and capture the very first photos of him ever.

I will spare you all the gross details and believe me it was GROSS! And seriously did it have to be sooo bright in there!? But at the same time it was the most amazing thing that I have ever experienced. Truly a miracle!

It was such an emotional evening and I cried alot. Mainly ~~because it was 4am~~ because Icouldn't stand to see my sister so scared and in pain but also because of the magnitude of situation and knowing that there was new life arriving. Perhaps also because of the part where i thought the baby's head fell off but that's a whole other story.

The doctor was hysterical in that he was fascinated by the fact that I was not using a flash in the delivery room. At one point while he was delivering the baby he turned to me and we had the following dialougue.

Dr: Silly question... but I have a Nikon D40 and the lighting here is just too dark. What are your camera settings on?
Me: Uh... ISO 1600 1/60s @ F 1.4 50 mm lens
Dr: hmmm What do you do for a living?
Me: Believe it or not I'm a photographer. What do you do?
Dr: I'm a freelance photographer
Me: oh really! I deliver babies on the side but you seem to be doing ok
Sara: Screaming in pain
Dr: Back to work

I'M AN AUNT!!!! While I was holding Davey my dad was whispering to him "Don't worry.. soon enough you'll have sunflare behind your head" So funny!!

Fast forward 1 week later when I got to see Davey again after my trip to Michigan. Sara went to take a nap and foolishly left me and my mom in charge.

And this is why I'm no longer allowed to babysit :)

I LOVE this family. Love love them. Teri and Cory both went to HS with Seth and I have been doing their photos since Teri was pregnant with Mila. I was a little nervous for this photo session since last summer's session was so amazing I just couldn't imagine anything topping it. Well, somehow we found a way!! The weather was great and the light was beautiful.
Teri and Cori are such great parents and they are always hugging and loving on their kiddos. They are all so happy and energetic that it makes my job so easy to just stand back and capture them being themselves.

This one was taken .0003 seconds before they were both sprawled out on the ground.

One of my priorities during my trip to Nebraska was to photograph my friends Marci and Nacho and their beautiful little girls. Marci and Nacho own the Double Down Bar and Grill that I used to work at part-time when I was living in NE and they quickly became some of my dear friends. Nacho is in the Army Reserves and recieved notice of his deployment around the time that I was moving back to Maryland. He was sent to Kuwait for a year and was away from his family for 15 months total including training. It was so painful for both him and his girls to be away from each other for so long and I couldn't wait to be able to capture their relationship now that he is safely returned. Kyra made a sand heart Nacho and Marci are getting ready to open a new bar down the road on an old riverboat. Since it was still empty we went down and checked it out for a few photos.

My friend Erin was in town from Reno for a few days and so I of course had to get some photos of her while she was around. She's a fabulous model!
I LOVE this first one!
We saw this barn from the road far back at the end of a huge field. So we drove around until we could find a way up to it. It was exactly what we were looking for.

We got this afghan from a thrift store and I have always loved it. I have brought it to many photo shoots and never ended up using it. It was just perfect for today.

Adrienne & Kenny were married May 16th in Salisbury MD. The weatherman called for yucky weather and I even drove through some rain on my drive to the eastern shore. However the weather gods were smiling on me this day and the weather cleared up completely in time for the ceremony. Fabulous!!

I can hardly believe that my baby sister is having a baby. I'm beyond excited to be an aunt that I can barely even stand it. Since my sister could be having this little bundle pretty much any time now we made sure to get a few fun maternity photos while we still could . We headed out yesterday to Kinder Park which I just love to shoot at and walked through the fields getting some images of Sara and her hubby Steve.

We don't know if it's a girl or a boy but I'm thinking girl. What do you think?

Jackson's Smile Featured Artist

Jackson's smile wasn't free like most little boys.

He was born with a rare syndrome called "Simpson Golabi Behmel" as well as a cleft lip and palate.

His smile has cost hundreds of thousands of dollars thus far. Jackson has already had two major surgeries in just his first year of life. His parents, Daniel and Halle, are doing all they can to provide Jackson with a healthy life. Without insurance and financial gifts from others, Jackson's medical expenses would total close to one million dollars by now, just so he can eat, drink, and smile. Simple gifts that most of us take too much for granted.

The last time I was with Ava and her family they were expecting a new little baby boy. Just a few weeks ago they welcomed that little baby boy into their family. He is absolutly precious and I was so happy to be able to document the relationship between him and first time big sister Ava.
While baby Zachary was getting camera ready Ava and I took a trip outside to stop and smell the roses.

Back inside Ava switched into big sister mode.

Kim's parents have a beautiful piece of property that was great for fun photos. We took a couple golf carts out and just zipped all over the place finding interesting sites to shoot at. It was such a blast to have plenty of time to explore and get creative.

I had the most amazing time with this family and I have been dying to get them on the blog every since Mother's Day when we had our session. Matt was getting ready to leave for his deployment and since he was going to be gone for so long serving our country it was a priority to get some awesome family images to celebrate their relationships.

We went to Kinder Farm Park and ran, laughed, hugged, played football, bocce ball and had a blast getting all of these images.
